The holiday season brings out the best in people—and at Hodge Industrial, we believe one of our greatest strengths isn’t just the reliability of our equipment service across eight locations, it’s the joy and camaraderie of our entire family of companies.
At Hodge Industrial, our core values aren’t just words on a wall—they’re the foundation of everything we do.Culture is Key and one of our core values is “We Laugh and Have Fun.” When you create an environment where people can laugh together, take on challenges with a smile, and find joy in the work, everything else falls into place—better teamwork, better service, better results. Our values guide us every single day, and this one? It’s not optional—it’s essential to who we are.
This December, ALL teams from Atlanta Compressor, Detroit Compressor, Dallas Compressor, Tampa Compressor, Greenville Compressor, Charlotte Compressor, Nashville Compressor, and Cleveland Compressor all came together to live out that core value in the best way possible. We traded our toolboxes for Santa hats and hit the streets of Jackson County for something we’ll be talking about for years to come: The Hodge Industrial Holiday Hunt.
Why “We Laugh and Have Fun” Matters in Industrial Service
In the compressed air industry, we deal with high-pressure situations daily—literally. Plant managers across the country call our branches when their operations are on the line, and our teams show up with solutions that deliver peace of mind. But behind every emergency service call and every preventive maintenance appointment is a team of real people who genuinely care about each other and the communities we serve.
That’s why when the holidays rolled around, we didn’t just exchange gifts in a conference room. We brought our entire Hodge Industrial family together and created an experience that embodied our core value of We Laugh and Have Fun. Because when you genuinely enjoy the people you work with, it shows up in every interaction, every service call, and every customer relationship.
Eight Branches, One Family, One Epic Day
Picture this: technicians from Cleveland, sales staff from Tampa, admin professionals from Dallas, and team members from all our locations racing across Braselton, Hoschton, and Winder with one mission—complete as many creative challenges as possible before the 3:00 PM deadline at Braselton Town Green.
Teams scattered across Jackson County hunting for everything from vintage gas stations to inflatable Christmas characters. The competition was fierce, but the laughter was even louder. And for many of our team members who work in different states throughout the year, this was a rare chance to put faces to the names they collaborate with daily—and to laugh together in person.
Highlights That Made Us Proud
The Trade-Up Challenge might have been the most entertaining part of the day. Teams started with a simple company pen and had to trade it with strangers for something “bigger or better,” then trade that item for something even more valuable. Watching our normally reserved technicians from Detroit and service coordinators from Nashville convince complete strangers to swap items brought out creativity we didn’t know existed. One team traded their way up to a vintage toolbox—fitting for a compressor service company! The laughter during the final reveal at 3:00 PM was worth the entire day.
Community Impact was baked right into the hunt. Teams purchased gift cards for local nurses, delivery drivers, veterans, and service workers. By the end of the day, we put over $1,200 directly into the hands of deserving people in our community. From Charlotte to Cleveland, Dallas to Tampa, every branch contributed to making someone’s holiday season brighter. That’s the kind of holiday spirit that matters—and doing good while having fun made it even more meaningful.
The Golden Ornament Power-Up added an element of mystery. A hidden item somewhere in Jackson County, a cryptic hint dropped via Slack, and teams racing to be first to find it and claim 50 bonus points. The winning team—a mix of Atlanta and Greenville team members—not only earned bragging rights but got to subtract points from their rivals. The friendly trash talk and celebratory reactions? Pure gold.
Living Our Core Values Through Team Culture
At Hodge Industrial, we talk about our core values across all our locations—Culture is Key, Extreme Ownership, Resourcefulness, Continuous Improvement, Communication, and We Laugh and Have Fun. But values mean nothing if they only live in an employee handbook. The scavenger hunt brought these principles to life:
- We Laugh and Have Fun: From start to finish, this day was about joy, competition, and creating memories together.
- Resourcefulness: Teams had to think on their feet, navigate unfamiliar areas, and solve creative challenges with limited time.
- Extreme Ownership: Every team member took responsibility for different tasks—navigation, photography, community interactions.
- Culture is Key: We proved that work culture isn’t just about getting the job done; it’s about building genuine relationships and creating memories that span from coast to coast.
- Communication: Teams from different branches had to coordinate quickly and effectively, mirroring the collaboration we practice daily in serving customers nationwide.
When you love coming to work and genuinely enjoy the people you work with—even if they’re based 1,000 miles away—that energy shows up in how you serve customers. Our clients get the benefit of a unified team that communicates well, supports each other under pressure, and genuinely cares about delivering excellent service, no matter which branch responds.
Why This Matters to Our Customers
You might wonder what a Christmas scavenger hunt has to do with compressed air system maintenance or emergency compressor repair. Everything.
When your plant in Atlanta goes down at 2:00 AM on a Saturday, or your facility in Cleveland needs urgent service on a holiday weekend, you’re not just calling a faceless service company—you’re calling a unified family of professionals who know how to work together, solve problems creatively, and stay positive under pressure. The same people who laughed their way through a scavenger hunt are the same professionals who show up with expertise and dedication when your operation needs it most.
Peace of mind isn’t just about reliable equipment. It’s about trusting the people behind the service—whether they’re from our Tampa branch, our Dallas team, or any of our eight locations nationwide.
One Company, Eight Locations, Countless Memories
The industrial service sector often gets a bad reputation for being all business, no personality. At Hodge Industrial, we’re proving that you can be exceptional at technical service while also being a place where people genuinely want to work—regardless of which city they call home.
Our team doesn’t just clock in and clock out. We celebrate wins together, support each other through challenges, and yes—we bring teams from Atlanta Compressor, Detroit Compressor, Dallas Compressor, Tampa Compressor, Greenville Compressor, Charlotte Compressor, Nashville Compressor, and Cleveland Compressor together to chase inflatable Christmas decorations through small Georgia towns and call it team building.
This holiday season reminded us why we do what we do. It’s not just about compressors and air dryers. It’s about the people—our team members across eight states who bring their whole selves to work, and the customers who trust us to keep their operations running smoothly no matter where they’re located.
Building Something Bigger Than Business
What makes Hodge Industrial special isn’t just our geographic reach or technical expertise—it’s that we’ve built something that feels like family. When a technician in Cleveland helps troubleshoot a complex issue with a sales rep in Charlotte, or when our Nashville team shares best practices with our Greenville crew, it’s all connected by relationships built on days like this.
The scavenger hunt wasn’t just about having fun (though we definitely did). It was about strengthening the bonds that make us more effective as a national service provider. When your team genuinely knows and likes each other, collaboration becomes natural. Problem-solving becomes creative. Customer service becomes exceptional.
